Carbridge, the onsite provider of airport ground transportation services for the Sydney Airport, announced that it has placed orders for 40 more pure electric buses from BYD. The contract was finalized at the end of January — just 3 months after the first BYD Electric Blu bus was first put to use at the Sydney Airport.
Global battery storage solution provider for mobile and stationary applications Microvast announced that it delivered more than 7,500 fully electric and electric-hybrid buses in 2016, which is a new record for the company.
It seems that Volvo and ABB can’t stop, won’t stop, rolling out electrified transit solutions in Europe. The team over at Volvo reached out to us to share that the Belgian cities of Charleroi and Namur have put in orders totaling 90 Volvo 7900 Electric Hybrid buses paired with 12 fast charging stations from ABB.
Tesla’s free Superchargers have been a hotly debated topic since they first went live for the Model S. People complained about how it wasn’t scalable, how the stalls would all fill up because of local freeloaders when it was designed for people taking long trips…suffice it to say that it has been a point of contention for the company…but at the same time, one of Tesla’s key differentiators.

In doing so, and as he’s also in the habit of doing, he shed light on some rather interesting details about the Model S and X battery size, Model 3 battery size as limited by the physical footprint of the vehicle, and a few tips on stripping down a Tesla for maximum performance.
The Chargepoint Express Plus solution is really the foundation of the DC fast charging system, operating between the utility and the charging adapter, and the adapter itself is really nothing more than a bolt-on to that foundation. Taking the next logical step, I asked about adding on wireless charging which would, in and of itself, make it possible to charge autonomous vehicles without the need for a complex ‘snake’ charger.
