You Can Get Your Hand Stuck In A Model S… sort of

When you are managing editor of one of the largest car websites in the world — a site which gets to drive, gawk at, and play with a Tesla Model S — and you get a bit bored, you start to come up with some rather weird ideas for what you can test on the car. At least, that’s what I’ve gathered from the latest Tesla Model S “test” from Donna DeRosa, the Managing Editor of Edmunds.com.

Donna decided to see if the mechanical door handles on the Model S, which automatically slip back into alignment with the car body a short time after you are done using them, could pin your hand and trap you in a way only a thriller or action film director would like.

Indeed, if you leave your hand between the handle and the car for about 40 seconds, your hand could get a little stuck. Though, it doesn’t actually look too difficult to pull it out. See for yourself in this ridiculous video that makes me want to do a face-palm:
