POD Point Chargers Providing Free Home Charging Points With Nissan LEAF Purchases In UK

The electric vehicle charging solutions firm POD Point has identified itself as one of the suppliers of free home charging solutions to Nissan LEAF buyers in the UK making the purchase with finance, according to an email sent to CleanTechnica and EVObsession.

The email states that this “reflects the continued success of this partnership and is another indication of the significant shift in understanding of home charging as an integral part of the electric car experience.”

The home charging point in question (being provided free of charge) is the POD Point Solo — a “super reliable” charging unit that can be installed within just 10 working days, according to the firm.

The CEO and Founder of POD Point, Erik Fairbairn, commented on the news, saying: “We are very pleased to continue our close partnership with Nissan GB by providing its electric car customers with free home charging points. The ability to charge an electric car at home is a key part of the EV experience and we are excited to help Nissan ease the transition into the world of electric driving.”

The press release for the news provides some background on the firm (for those interested): “POD Point is the UK’s leading electric vehicle charging network. Since it started in 2009, POD Point has manufactured and sold over 20,000 electric vehicle charge points, and developed one of the UK’s largest public charging networks, connecting EV drivers with hundreds of charging bays nationwide at locations such as Sainsbury’s and Southern Rail.”

Continuing: “They install their products for customers of many major automotive brands and count high profile companies such as Lloyds Banking Group, Britvic and O2 Telefónica among their workplace customers. Through their network of home, workplace and destination charge points they have already powered over 12 million miles of electric vehicle motoring.”
