It’s been a while since we’ve posted any videos of the Rimac Concept_One in action. Probably too long for the taste of some. … So, it seems worth posting the video below of the Rimac Concept_One going “head to head” with a Bugatti Veyron on a route along the scenic Croatian coastline.
As the race is a PR stunt, those driving the vehicles in question are each celebrities of a sort — Rimac Automobili founder Mate Rimac and England’s Earl of Pembroke. Enjoy!
Teslarati provides more context:
“It would be a match that pits the world’s quickest electric hypercar against the quad turbo beast that has held the title for World’s Fastest Car for more than a decade. To make the duel more interesting, Lord Pembroke was invited to drive the 1088hp Concept_One against his own Veyron, which would be driven by Rimac’s founder. Plans eventually call for a drag battle between the two hypercars, but the first episode in the video series highlights the two cars blasting down Croatia’s Adriatic Coast Road.
“The journey first began when Lord Pembroke transported his Veyron to Zagreb, Croatia, where the factory for Rimac’s 1088 hp Concept_One is located. Mate Rimac and Lord Pembroke are seen getting accustomed to their respective rides before testing the vehicle’s performance capabilities during their coastal drive. It would be each person’s first time driving their new hypercars.”
As noted above, the video posted above is just the first of many. There will apparently be more posted showing the Earl of Pembroke driving the Rimac Concept_One in various contexts.
