January 2014 electrified vehicles sales for Germany are now out. Continuing where the smart electric drive left off, at the top of the list, it also topped the sales list in January. #2 rose from #5 on the 2013 list, but that’s really no surprise—it’s the BMW i3, which just hit the market at the end of 2013. #3 was another newcomer built in Germany, the Volkswagen e-Up!. The usual suspects—the Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S, and Renault Twizy—followed.

Did the BMW i3 finally pull into the lead in February? Or is its very distant German cousin, the smart electric drive, going to hold onto the title? Or perhaps we’ll have a big surprise from the e-Up!, which sits somewhere in between those two in terms of performance and comfort.
