ClipperCreek Announces LCS-30 EVSE — 24 Amp Level 2 Charging Station For $499

ClipperCreek has released a new 24 Amp Level 2 electric vehicle charging station, one that provides 5.8 kilowatts (kW) of power — allowing for charging speeds up to 4 times faster than those achieved with use of the 120V cord-sets standard with many plug-ins — according to an email sent to EVObsession and CleanTechnica.

The new offering — the LCS-30 EVSE — is available in a number of different forms, with both plug-in and hardwired versions being sold. Pricing varies somewhat — for instance, the hardwired 240 Volt charging station runs $499, and the 4 LCS-30P plug-in versions run $515.

The LCS-30 includes ClipperCreek’s standard 3-year warranty, a fully sealed NEMA 4 enclosure, 25 feet of charge cable, and now lockable connectors as well (following customer demand).

Here are some further details:

• Integrated cable wrap makes storing the cable simple and convenient
• Low profile wall mount connector holster is included, allowing storage of the vehicle connector out of the way and where it’s most convenient
• Next generation SAE-J1772 connector with optional pad lock feature
• No assembly required
• No mounting kit required
• Safety listed by ETL
• ClipperCreek customers are supported by an exceptional customer service team
• Made in America
• Optional wall mount Cable Cradle is available for added charge cable management for $19.

“Electric vehicle owners want faster charging, but don’t necessarily want to upgrade their electrical service panel. The LCS-30 provides the maximum charging power available through a standard 30 Amp, 240 Volt circuit. With 24 Amps available to the vehicle, the LCS-30 can deliver approximately 20 miles of range per hour of charge for vehicles capable of accepting this level of power for charging. This allows more people to use their existing infrastructure, making the installation much more affordable,” commented Will Barrett, ClipperCreek’s Director of Sales. “The LCS-30 is offered as a hardwired unit or a plug-in with four different NEMA plug types to choose from. Many people already have a NEMA 14-30 receptacle in their garage, so that will be a very popular configuration and installation costs will be minimal or even no cost in some cases.”

“Pairing the LCS-30 with our new, dual mount ready, affordable pedestal, the ProMountDuo, makes the LCS-30 perfect for a parking lot installation. There are many companies who want to offer Level 2 charging for their employees or customers, but don’t want to make a large infrastructure and hardware investment; this is an excellent solution for those companies.”

The new offering is now available for purchase through the company’s website, or by phone (877-694-4194).
