The UK-based electric vehicle charging solutions firm POD Point has been named as the official recommended supplier of such technologies in the UK by PSA Group — the firm behind Peugeot and Citroën — according to an email sent to EV Obsession.
What this means, amongst other things, is that a number of POD Point electric vehicle (EV) charging points will be installed at various Peugeot and Citroën dealerships throughout the UK within the near future.
“Other things” of course refers to the fact that owners of plug-in electric Peugeot and Citroën vehicles will be able to easily purchase home charging points through their dealers.
The CEO and founder of POD Point, Erik Fairbairn, commented: “We are very pleased to be working with Citroën and Peugeot to provide the very best customer service and installation experience in the UK. They have long been synonymous with being at the cutting edge of automotive innovation, and today is a prime example of that. We are delighted to have been chosen as the preferred supplier and to be supporting its fleet, sales and dealership teams in providing the very best experience for anybody using an EV in the UK.”
The email notes that POD Point was apparently chosen through a competitive selection process based “on the strength of its customer service, the quality of its products and its dealership integration and training.”
The Head of Electric Vehicles for the PSA group in the UK, Helen Lees, commented as well: “POD Point has a strong emphasis on the importance of training and education in the sales process of electric vehicles and charging solutions, which we see as crucial in this emerging market. It’s vital that our customers are fully informed and only select electric vehicles when the transport and charging needs suit their circumstances. POD Point provides our customers with a competitive offer for standard or rapid charging at home or at the workplace. We also predict growth in our electric LCV sales in particular, so we’re delighted that POD Point can offer our business customers workplace charging solutions part-funded by the new government grant.”
The news follows similar announcements concerning POD Point being chosen as the recommended charging point supplier for Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, Volvo, and probably others.
As it stands, POD Point has now shipped more than 27,000 EV charging points.
