To maximise range, ë-Berlingo Van features regenerative braking technology. For enhanced energy regeneration, the “B” button in the central console can be pressed for greater effect. The 50kWh battery is located under the seats of the vehicle and does not impact the load volume. The battery warranty is for eight years or 100,000 miles (70% of battery capacity).

SERENE DRIVING IN ELECTRIC MODE

New Citroën ë-Berlingo Van 100% ëlectric

New ë-Berlingo Van is powered by a 100kW (136hp) electric motor and can reach a maximum speed of 84mph (where permitted) regardless of the driving mode used. Drivers can choose between three driving modes via a specific control in the centre console:

  • Normal – limits power to 80kW/180Nm and is ideal for everyday driving conditions.
  • Eco – limits power to 60kW/190Nm and enables energy consumption to be optimised by reducing the use of heating and air conditioning, but without deactivating them.
  • Power – 100kW/260Nm optimises vehicle performance for greater comfort and performance under maximum load conditions.

On-board comfort is enhanced by a high seating position and supple suspension, plus precise steering with a tight 10.8m diameter turning circle.

RECHARGING TIME SUITABLE FOR PROFESSIONAL USE
Charge time is optimised:

  • At a public charging station, using a 100 kW charger, the battery replenishes to 80% of charge in 30 minutes.
  • At home or in public using a 32A Wallbox, recharging takes as little as 5 hours with single-phase supply or 5 hours with three-phase supply and an optional 11 kW on-board charger.
  • At home and for occasional needs, the battery can be recharged using a standard 3-pin 13A domestic socket.

FUNCTIONS TO MAKE ELECTRIC DRIVING EASY
New ë-Berlingo Van features delayed charging functionality that allows drivers to take advantage of off-peak electricity tariffs. New ë-Berlingo Van also offers thermal preconditioning, enabling the temperature in the cabin to be increased or decreased to an optimum 21 degrees whilst still connected to the mains, meaning that power is not drawn from the vehicles battery.

Using the My Citroën app, drivers can access many of the van’s functions remotely, including managing the battery charging process, viewing the charge level, thermal preconditioning of the cabin and controlling the delayed charging. All can be configured from a smartphone or tablet, or directly using the vehicle’s touchscreen, which offers connected browsing via the “Energy” menu. This operation is possible for domestic charging (mode 2) or fast charging (mode 3). Delayed charging can be modified instantaneously.

Another benefit for drivers comes in the form of a six month free membership to BP Pulse (formerly known as Polar), offering 7,000 public charge points across the UK, with certain locations offering rapid charging to accommodate the 100kW charging capability of new ë-Berlingo Van.

SPECIFIC FEATURES OF NEW Ë-BERLINGO VAN
New ë-Berlingo Van can be identified by a monogram of the electric “ë” before the Berlingo name on the left rear door, and in its charging flap, located where the fuel-filler flap would otherwise be.

Inside, everything has been designed to make sure using ë-Berlingo Van is easy. In the central console, an ë-Toggle switch controls the gearbox – with Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive functions – together with a selector enabling the three driving modes to be activated: Eco, Normal and Power. New ë-Berlingo Van has a 8-inch touchscreen with a specific “Energy” page in its menu, which gives access to the vehicle’s electric features. This includes an energy flow animation that shows the electric powertrain operating in real time. It also shows the driving mode being used, the electric motor in operation and the charge level of the battery, plus consumption statistics. The driver can also see the delayed charging and thermal preconditioning settings.

Citroën Berlingo Van has set the standard in the small van segment for three product generations. Berlingo Van was the first van with an integrated cabin, a diesel variant, three front seats, an electric parking brake and, more recently in the latest generation, an Overload Indicator. It is the ideal partner for professionals and fleet operators, with more than 1.6 million models sold throughout the world since the first version was launched in 1996.

New Citroën ë-Berlingo Van offers all the benefits from the architecture and design of the ICE versions. The new model is just as compact and provides the same modularity, ergonomics, internal space, storage and optimised loading capacity, making it an ideal working tool.

Citroën ë-Berlingo panel vans comes in two sizes: M, measuring 4.40m long, and XL, measuring 4.75m long. New ë-Berlingo is also available as a Crew Van, offering seating for up to five, based on the XL version. New ë-Berlingo Van is 1.84m tall allowing it to enter even the most restricted underground car parks.

As the driver can fold down the passenger seat in the EXTENSO® cabin, maximum load length in ë-Berlingo Van extends up to 3.09m in the M version and 3.44m in the XL version.

With an effective width between the wheel arches of 1.23m, ë-Berlingo Van can carry two Euro pallets, one behind the other. Load volumes are the same as in the ICE versions – 3.3m3 (M without EXTENSO ® cabin), and up to 4.4m3 (XL with EXTENSO ® cabin). The payload is up to 800kg and the towing limit is up to 750kg.

New ë-Berlingo is available in a choice of two trim levels for the UK market, popular ‘Enterprise’ and range topping ‘Driver’ specification.

MODULARITY AND STORAGE
The electric version of Berlingo Van makes no compromises in terms of modularity and storage, and the EXTENSO® cabin provides three useable seats in the front and a hatch for the transport of long loads, along with a folding passenger seat. The passenger seat can also be pivoted upwards to reveal even more loading space. If folded down, the back of the central seat can be used as desk in a mobile office, with its integrated swivelling writing surface. Finally, new ë-Berlingo Van provides 113-litres of clever and ergonomic storage distributed throughout the cabin.
