While the Tesla Model X may officially be in production, there are still only a precious few in the hands of customers. With the wait ongoing, one fan took it into their own hands to build a Model X. Bonnie from the Tesla Motors Club forum, and Model X Signature reservation holder #2, recently shared a great link to a very detailed animation of that user’s Model X. The animation was originally shared on Sketchfab. It’s a lot of fun to have an animated car that allows you to go full screen, flip it around to all sorts of awkward angles, and see those beautiful falcon-wing doors that Tesla put so much blood, sweat, and tears into.

It initially appears to be just an exterior model… until the zoom functionality is discovered. Utilizing this, you can actually view the interior, which reveals a whole new level of detail of the car. I found it funny that the dash displays were lifted from a Model S, but other than that, it looks spot on to me, including shadows and lighting — both of which dynamically adjust as the doors and angle change.
Hop on over to the Sketchfab site to play with it for yourself if the embedded option above didn’t work for you!
