On January 3, NIO provided its December and 2020 full-year delivery results. NIO delivered 7,007 vehicles in December, increasing by 32.4% month-over-month, setting a new record for five consecutive months, and by 121% year-over-year, registering its ninth straight month of twofold growth since April. For the full year, NIO delivered 43,728 vehicles in 2020, representing a year-on-year increase of 112.6%.
All three of NIO’s premium SUVs finished the end of 2020 with flying colors, with 2,009 all-new ES8s, a historic high since the launch of this flagship smart electric SUV, 2,493 ES6s, the all-around smart electric SUV, and 2,505 EC6s, the smart electric coupe SUV, the delivery of which also reached a new high and continue to lead the premium coupe SUV segment.
NIO delivered 17,353 vehicles in the three months ended December 2020, representing a 42.2% month-over-month growth and a 111.0% year-over-year growth, exceeding the quarterly guidance. Cumulative deliveries in 2020 reached 43,728, up by 112.6% compared with the full year 2019, bringing NIO’s total deliveries to 75,641 since deliveries commenced in June 2018.
In 2020, NIO made continuous efforts into research and development of core technologies and business model innovation. NIO launched the “Navigate on Pilot” (NOP) ADAS feature based on high-definition maps, 100 kWh long-range battery, “Battery as a Service” (BaaS), and flexible battery upgrade plans. Meanwhile, NIO built 49 new Power Swap Stations and 80 new Power Charger Stations in 2020. A total of 172 Power Swap Stations and 100 Power Charger Stations are currently in operation in China to provide NIO users with a better experience while driving a battery-electric vehicle.
In 2020, with excellent product and experience, superior quality control, and an innovative service model, NIO achieved record-high deliveries month after month. NIO has cash reserves of over RMB 40 billion, a solid foundation for future R&D and continuous improvement in the service experience.
