We’ve seen spy shots of black and white Tesla Model Xs, and a video from afar of a heavily camouflaged Model X testing. Now, we graduate to a whole nother level — a video of a white Model X testing taken from a car right next to it on the highway.
I’m sort of surprised it has taken so long to get such a video. Maybe Tesla has some autopilot software in place to help test drivers get away from video-recording road companions. 😉
The Model X looks quite good in this video, imho, though still camouflaged enough that it’s hard to make any final conclusions. Other than the Porsche Cayenne, I can’t think of another SUV/CUV that I think looks better. And then there are all of the wonderful Tesla goodies inside (+ regular software updates to make the vehicle better and better). Needless to say, but I’ll say it anyway, there’s no way any other SUV/CUV on the market will compete with the Model X.
For a lot of fun speculation about something spotted in the passenger-side A pillar, I recommend: Theory: Model X has “transparent” A pillars (see-through video)?. I’m not so sure about that theory, but a fun read…
Also fun, and hard to miss, as Chris notes: “Those side mirrors don’t appear to have hurt acceleration any though, as after a few seconds of being filmed, the Model X driver quietly-but-quickly accelerates away, just before the video ends. Must be the P85D Tesla testing, which as we’ve shown compares more than favorably with many other luxury crossovers.”
