Tesla Model S Lease For $698/Month For Limited Time

My mom, who’s doing a long-term review of a Nissan LEAF for us, told me the other day that Tesla had a $698/month lease deal going right now. She apparently heard this from someone she recently met at a charging station.

Tesla Model S Grey 5Obviously, the $698/month deal is just for the Tesla Model S 70, but nonetheless, it should put the car in the reach of more people. While the 70 doesn’t generate the fan enthusiasm of the P85D or P90D, hitting 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds and having a rated range of 230 miles is definitely nothing to scoff at either.

To back up this rumor, Green Car Reports has posted on the $698/month lease deal as well. The site does note that the low-end deal does require $6,393 up front.

Tesla Model Ss FloridaOf course, buying a pre-owned Model S is still going to be much more economical. While I’m just seeing one car under $49,000 right now on the Tesla CPO webpage (compared to $70,000 for a new base-level Model S), I have seen up to 7 under that (almost randomly selected) price in recent weeks. Keep checking the site, or EV-CPO, for sweet deals if you’re eager to get a Tesla as cheaply as possible.

While I was leaning toward a Tesla lease for a long time, I’ve swung over to a preference for a CPO Tesla. Though, I’d really want Autopilot if I were to get a Tesla, so I think I’d wait a bit longer if possible, since the cheapest Tesla with Autopilot on the CPO site is still $82,500 (granted, it’s a P85+ with a panoramic roof, 21-inch silver wheels, and other goodies).

Regarding the lease, for those of you living outside the US, I’m not sure if a comparable deal is on the table, but I imagine it’s worth looking into.
