With the Tesla Gigafactory project already breaking ground in Nevada, the time is fast approaching when an architect will be needed to design the future battery factory. With this being such a world-class project, Elon Musk has his pick of the architecture elite for this project.
BizJournals reports that Tesla is currently seeking that special someone to design the Gigafactory, which will be capable of building 500,000 electric vehicle batteries. But it can’t just be anyone, as the Gigafactory will incorporate all sorts of green energy systems to make the plant as self-sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible. That means the designer must have experience with solar power systems, waste water treatment, and semiconducters among other features to be incorporated into the battery plant.

Tesla is looking for an Architect to assist in the design and construction of advanced
manufacturing facilities. Like our products, these facilities must be innovative.
This person must be highly motivated and organized with a clear focus on driving multiple projects with aggressive deadlines and budgets. This role will help the infrastructure group design and construct leading edge facilities that target world-class efficient output and carbon neutrality.
This full time role requires the flexibility of traveling when needed (up to 70%) and doing whatever it takes to achieve project objectives.
The Gigafactory is scheduled to go online as early as 2017, but won’t reach full capacity until 2020.
