Some celebrities like to talk about how green they’ve made their lives from the porch of their 10,000 square-foot, $10 million mansion. There are others, though, that use their wealth and fame to truly embrace greener living and a smaller environmental impact.
Ed Begley Jr. talks the talk and walks the walk when it comes leaving a smaller carbon footprint, and now you can own his own personal RAV4 EV, which is up for sale on eBay. No, this isn’t the fancy new Tesla-powered RAV4 EV, but rather a 2002 model from California’s first attempt for force automakers to build electric cars. Begley has been a proud owner since 2002, racking up some 119,000 miles in that time. Worried about the battery? Don’t be, as Begley had it replaced with a new pack in 2011, though it was involved in a minor accident over a decade ago.
Aside from some normal wear and tear, this Toyota RAV4 EV is a rare bird with some special perks, like a White Clean Air Vehicle sticker that gives drivers access to California’s coveted HOV lanes. The original sticker price was about $42,000, and bidding has exceeded $10,000 with three days of bidding left to go.
That’s an absolute bargain for a celebrity-owned EV, especially a celebrity who has gone to great lengths to limit his carbon footprint.
