A guy walks into a local Chevy dealer. Says, “Hey, you guys got any Bolts? That’s Bolt, with a B.” In return, the guy receives blank stares from the sales staff … replaced shortly by smiles, a negatory on the Bolt, and a verbal rundown of all the great models on the lot the guy would just love, such as the Cruze, the Sonic, the Malibu, and yes, the Volt. The Spark went unmentioned.

The Alta Motors Redshift ST Concept set to be showcased by the company at The One Moto Show is possibly slated to enter into production in the near future, according to some recent reports. Apparently, no final decision has been made on the matter, going by a company spokesperson’s response to a query from Autoblog, […]
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) seems like an ideal place for Tesla Motors. Clearly, the country has money, and people with money can afford Teslas — which nearly everyone seems to want. Additionally, UAE leadership — despite making a fortune and a half on oil & gas — seems to be keenly aware that the future is cleantech, and the future is coming faster than a Tesla Model S P100D.
I landed a couple of pretty interesting scoops today while in Abu Dhabi for Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. First of all, I found out that Tesla is opening a store in the UAE next month — it’s unclear if the store will be in Abu Dhabi or Dubai or both cities. That was expected for a long time, though, especially given that the backdrop of Dubai has appeared in some Tesla advertising.
Also published on CleanTechnica and our Electric Car Sales page. The Chinese market had 44,874 new electric cars in December, far from the 60,000 expected by analysts, but still up 27% year over year (YoY) and far more than the electric car sales in the US and Europe. Overall, China’s plug-in market share rose to a record 1.45%, […]
Below is an electric cars list of the fully electric cars for sale in 2017 in the USA. This article will be updated as new electric cars arrive on the market, such as the coming Tesla Model 3. The first prices listed are base prices before the federal tax credit. In parenthesis are prices after the maximum […]
The EV market as a whole saw 30% growth for 2016 (compared to 2016) and 51% for December 2016 (compared to December 2015), which would be great for normal cars but may seem a bit weak on the surface for those of us who know how fast EV sales should and could be growing. But remember that 2016 was more of a prep year than a breakout year. This year (2017) and next (2018) are likely to be the big breakout years, thanks to the real arrival of the Chevy Bolt and the expected arrival of the Tesla Model 3.
The heavy-duty electric bus firm Proterra recently secured $140 million in new funding through a recent Series 5 funding round. These new funds, which were raised in partnership with the financial industry giant JP Morgan, will reportedly be used for the “dramatic” acceleration of production capacity on both coasts of the US, as well as the […]
Owing to some recent comments that I heard concerning President-Elect Donald Trump possibly coming down hard on Tesla Motors once he takes office, I figured it was worth posting a note here … Trump apparently owns a Tesla (amongst a great many other cars, no doubt). That assertion stems from the fact that his campaign told the […]
Now that the new and improved Renault Zoe has been available for a bit of time, more and more reviews are popping up. Amongst which is an interesting review of the 2016 Renault Zoe R90 ZE 40 Signature that was recently posted by Auto Car. The basic appraisal communicated in the review? To use their […]
This article is also being published on CleanTechnica, the EV Sales blogspot, and our Electric Car Sales page. The European EV market had more than 18,500 registrations last month, 5% down over the same month last year. This sales slip has to do with the incentives-derived sales rush in the last quarter of 2015 in some […]
It’s been a while since we’ve posted any videos of the Rimac Concept_One in action. Probably too long for the taste of some. … So, it seems worth posting the video below of the Rimac Concept_One going “head to head” with a Bugatti Veyron on a route along the scenic Croatian coastline. As the race […]
Via CleanTechnica: Nissan LEAF sales in the UK continue growing strongly, despite the fact that a major refresh of the model will likely be released within a year or so. During the month of November, the LEAF was actually the fastest growing model, by sales numbers, in the whole of the UK’s competitive C-segment (small family car […]
Major auto manufacturers are doing practically nothing to advertise the plug-in electric vehicles that they sell, whether in California (as compliance vehicles) or elsewhere, according to a new study commissioned by the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM).
The respected automotive news outlet AutoWeek recently posted a new review of the Tesla Model X P90D — a largely enthusiastic and positive one. The pros (according to the review): A market-leading range, Autopilot, and the extensive nearly unique (in a production vehicle) tech options. The cons: The Model X is expensive, and the exterior design […]
Originally published on CleanTechnica. If you have a Tesla Model X and missed Elon Musk’s tweet early this morning (late last night), note that you can now activate a Christmas-related Easter egg — “ModelXmas” — with a few easy steps. Here’s the tweet: To activate the Model X holiday performance, just type holidays or ModelXmas after […]
Despite all of the pro-Bolt comments and reporting at the time, it seems that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s enthusiastic test drive of a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV back in September didn’t lead to him purchasing one. Instead, he has gotten a new Tesla Model S. There’s a bit of a catch to that statement, though, […]

The Chinese market had a record 43,441 new electric cars zooming the streets in November, up 36% over last October and 56% year over year (YoY), pulling the plug-in market share to a record 1.4%, above the […]
