GM isn’t the only one striking out in the advertising of electric vehicles lately. Ford just released its first commercial for the Ford Focus Electric, a car that has been on the market for nearly 4 years. If that doesn’t tell you enough about how much Ford has put into the car and how much it is working to help advance the EV revolution, maybe this commercial will put the period on the end of the sentence:
It’s certainly not the worst ad. It makes the Focus Electric look sporty, fun, exciting, and cutting edge — like almost all electric vehicles are… but few humans know.
But the car is just sitting on the top of the north poll or something, along with a charging station. It doesn’t convey how convenient home charging is, doesn’t show you how much instant torque rocks, doesn’t convey the convenience and huge savings from skipping the gas station. Honestly, what does it convey that is going to make someone say, “Ooo, I want to buy that car.”…?
