The producers of the Fisker Karma have had their share of… bad karma. With production ending in 2012 and Fisker Automotive bankruptcy following approximately 18 months later, it has been a rough few years for many formerly or currently at the company, and for Fisker fans. The latest news is that new owner Wanxiang Group is changing the name to “Elux Karma” for a 2016 relaunch (I’m not a fan of the name, and Chris and I have our doubts about the relaunch).
But despite all of the troubles, there’s no doubt the Fisker Karma is a beautiful vehicle. New Karmas aren’t on the table, but Stephen Edelstein over at Green Car Reports recently noticed there are a lot on eBay. He counted 17, but when I went over there just now, there were actually 19 for sale. If you’re interested in a beautiful plug-in hybrid with a solar panel roof but actually quite limited all-electric range, go have a perusal. Naturally, they aren’t cheap, but there are some good-looking deals.
Here’s a gallery of pictures from just one of the Karmas on offer (this one is selling for $55,900):
Of course, if you’re seriously considering a Karma, you’d be advised to do your best detective work finding out what kind of bugs might be afflicting the car. There are reportedly ~250 Wanxiang Group has fixed.
