Of course, note that the results come from Google (presented by Top Speed, via TeslaMondo). Google isn’t the default search engine in China, ya know? Still, though, the finding is quite interesting. Here’s the fun infographic showing which brands dominate in other countries around the globe:
Getting back to China… the “funny” thing is that China has warmed to Tesla (in terms of sales) at a much slower pace than originally anticipated. There are various reasons for that (like people trying to make cash off of cleverness rather than usefulness), but he fact of the matter is that China is still a hard nut to crack. Even being the top-search auto company in the country, we can see, landing sales is difficult for those trying to move us into an electric future.
Hopefully the interest will translate into purchases to a much greater extent soon. Acceptance into the Beijing “new energy vehicle” lottery should help with that a bit.
