LAPD’s BMW i3 Makes Appearance At Petersen Automotive Museum Event

The Los Angeles Police Department’s quite stylish BMW i3 electric vehicle made an appearance at the Petersen Automotive Museum’s most recent “Breakfast Club Cruise-In.”

The most recent event had an Oktoberfest theme, but the cars that made an appearance there ranged from the aforementioned BMW i3 electric vehicle (EV), to old Porsches from the 60s, to really old Mercedes from the 20s, to an old Volkswagen Beetle police car, and more.

Quite an interesting gathering of cars. If one has a thing for cars, then it’s probably worth heading over to the original article to take a look — some of them are real classics. Here’s a brief recap of the event via Car Stories:

The German Oktoberfest theme was represented with three very rare cars from the museum’s collection. A 1964 Porsche 901, 1923 Mercedes-Benz 28/95 Targa Florio and a 1955 Porsche 356 Continental were brought out from the vault and put on display.

Another great pairing of vehicles was the LAPD’s modern BMW i3 situated next to Jerry Seinfeld’s vintage 1979 Volkswagen Beetle police car. You’ll recognize this car from Bill Maher’s episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. With the Porsches, Mercedes and Ferraris that attend the cruise-in, it was hard for celebrity judge Spike Feresten of Car Matchmaker to pick a candidate for Best-In-Show. Spike eventually landed on a pumpkin orange 1971 Honda Z600 that everyone agreed truly deserved the praise it was given.

Those of you who feel that you’ve missed out can of course still attend the next event, which is currently set to take place on Sunday, November 8th. More information can be found here.
