  1. While only 137 have been built and sold, we love our Coda. Too many pundits complained about its “lack of style”, but that only shown a bright light back on their own limited abilities to understand the car buying public. There are many different designs, because there are a myriad of opinions of what a car should look like. We didn’t need to “stand out of the crowd”. We just wanted to drive electric in a very capable car with the best range of ANY electric car under $70K!

    1. Great comments. When I started covering cars, I thought the pretension of saying what looks good as if it’s a definite statement was a bit weird and ridiculous. Have become a bit desensitized to it, and perhaps engage a bit in that myself now, but it is weird and ridiculous.

      1. Thank you for understanding. Even my local EAA group has members with vehement feelings about “style”, when we should simply be offering the public a chance to discover what works best for them in a PEV. Our “lack of style” Coda has now surpassed 9K miles since Dec 21. I would say that is a testament to its roadworthiness, which is all that really matters.

        1. I completely agree.

regarding the Coda, I never thought it was ugly. Definitely think it fits in with standard cars more than most or all EVs. Reminds me very much of the extremely popular Toyota Corolla.
