Chevy Bolt Dimension Comparison With Other Popular Models

Originally published on CleanTechnica.

How large is the Chevy Bolt exactly? How do you tell if the model will be large enough to provide the interior space that you’re looking for in a car?

When looking at images of the Chevy Bolt (or most any other car), it can be a bit hard to get a sense of scale, leading one to be forced to wait for a test drive to make a final decision. While the information presented here may not completely forego that need, at the very least, perhaps it will help those reading get a better idea of the shape and size of the soon-to-be-released electric vehicle (EV).

A user (“Breezy“) on the GM Volt forum recently posted some pictures comparing the profile of the Chevy Bolt to that of other popular car models — the Honda Fit, the Kia Soul, the Nissan Versa Note, and the Chevrolet Trax (see above). These give a decent idea of what one can likely expect when dealing with the Chevy Bolt in person.

Here are the specs comparisons for those who prefer numbers:

Once we get closer to the launch, I’m sure that we’ll start getting the first reviews, and thus a better idea of interior space, but this will have to do for now I guess.

It would be cool if someone nifty with GIFs and images could put something like the Model 3 vs Model S comparison together, though.

  1. Excellent work! Very helpful.

We plan on getting the Bolt. It has everything we want in an EV if we understand the specs correctly and the quality is on par with the Volt.

We will order one this year if it comes available.
