Advansolar’s First Equity Crowd-Funding Campaign Underway

Advansolar’s first equity crowd-funding campaign (on Wiseed.com) is currently ongoing until May 22, as per a recent email sent to CleanTechnica.

The funds from this campaign will reportedly be utilized by the company to improve its position in the technical + industrial arenas, in conjunction with the boosting of sales development in its country of operation (France), and internationally.

For a bit of background here, Advansolar is a French startup that came to being back in 2010 which focuses on “electric mobility, solar energy, design & communication.” Amongst other things, the company designs/sells solar-charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs), electric bikes, and cell phones.

The email sent to CleanTechnica provides a bit more information:

After several years in the fossil fuel sector, Raphael Briere, graduate engineer from Centrale Marseille, envisioned a new concept of solar charging station. The electricity would not be reinjected into the grid, but consumed on the site to charge vehicles of all sort : the self-sustaining charging hub was born. In 2010, the young entrepreneur took the leap with his team mates and created Advansolar. Based in the “Eco-Vallée” (close to Nice), the company sets out to conquer the international market with the release of the SunPod brand, a range of solar charging stations for electric mobility. The SunPod solutions have already convinced large companies (Total, Veolia, Schneider Electric, Allianz), eco-tourism resorts (Port Gruissan, France) as well as event & communication agencies (TNT Events).

Interesting. Those who are interested can still get in on the action (until May 22), via the aforementioned French crowdfunding platform Wiseed.com.
